A review of Lowe Of Loughborough by Dick written on Wednesday 4th of October 2023
A six generation family business of traditional furnishings, and contemporary art,
this historic building, Loughborough's Mediaeval Guildhall is a treasure trove of
classic furnishing pieces, and cool contemporary crafts. From original period pieces to vintage and retro, there is something here for all tastes, with many unique and quirky symbols of both past and present for avid collectors.
Starting with fossils and geology from past aeons, to sculpture, paintings and pottery from contemporary artists, here are accents and objets d'art that will enhance any home, and transform a room from ordinary to stunning.
See the room where Henry VIII's chronicler, John Leland describes his father's visit [ Henry VII] for a night during his progress of the realm. The Guildhall became
Crown property in the reign of Elizabeth Ist. Today the showrooms inspire
home lovers labouring with alterations and decorating to complete their efforts with finishing touches to crown it all, and truly make their house their unique
home.
Open Monday to Friday, 10.00 to 5.30, closed at weekends. Skilled Restorations
undertaken..
